Forward SMS to Telegram.

Get your text messages in a Telegram chat. The app sends each SMS through your own Telegram bot, so the messages go only to the chat that you select.

How to set it up

  1. In Telegram, open @BotFather and send /newbot. Copy the bot token.
  2. Send a message to your bot, or add the bot to a group.
  3. Open https://api.telegram.org/bot<token>/getUpdates in a browser. Copy the chat.id value.
  4. In SMS Webhook, open Targets, tap Add target and select Telegram. Paste the bot token and the chat ID.
  5. Tap Send test message. The message shows in the chat.

What Telegram gets

The bot sends a text message. The default text is {{sender}}: {{body}}. You can change it in the target.

Send only the messages that you need

Rules select the messages. Example: when the sender contains HDFC and the text has an OTP, send it to Telegram. A drop rule can stop promotions first. See the webhook guide for the template variables.
